This week Diamond Recruitment Group held an exclusive
breakfast briefing at the Hilton Hotel in Belfast for our clients to look at
developments in Employment Law. In partnership with Tughans Solicitors, we
looked at how these developments will impact companies operating within
Northern Ireland.
One such development is the impending introduction of the
National Living Wage on 01 April 2016. Representing Tughans Solicitors, Rachel
Richardson and Patricia Rooney advised on employers’ responsibilities as HR
professionals to ensure its implementation, as well as discussing the potential
impact it may have on their companies.
Other topics discussed included developments in the
Employment Bill (NI) 2015, discrimination case law, expected changes to zero-hours
contracts, holiday pay and unfair dismissal claims. Future Developments in
Great Britain were also highlighted, including plans to help close the gender
pay gap, grandparents leave, and name-blind recruitment.
Donna Parker, Operations Director for Diamond Recruitment,
commented:

With the help of our partners Tughans, this event helps confirm that Diamond brings our clients’ businesses added value, providing access to expert advice on upcoming changes to employment legislation nationally and closer to home in Northern Ireland.”
